The audio quality is at 48kHz compared to the 16kHz of a traditional landline and during any call you can stat sharing any website, slide or document while all people attending, no matter on what kind of device can see what you are showing.

Free Video Group Chat and Browser-Based Screen-Sharing with Talky

Free Video Group Chat and Browser-Based Screen-Sharing with Talky | Online Collaboration Tools | Scoop.it

Browser-based real-time video group chat and screen-sharing.

Robin Good's insight:

Talky.io is a new free web app that allows you to videoconference and screen-share with your contacts easily.

There is no registration or login required. You simply name a collaboration room and you are instantly inside it. From there you can share the URL of your unique room with anyone you want to meet, and utilize both webcam and audio as well as screen-sharing facility to collaborate together.

Talky.io leverages WebRTC technology and it is only available if you use Chrome or Firefox.

Still in beta. May not work perfectly. In my brief test everything run smoothly and the quality of video and audio was particularly good. The only issue was a lack of sync between audio and video for my counterpart. On the other hand my video and audio were OK on his end.

Free to use.

P2P Video Group Chat and Screen-Sharing on Chrome and Firefox with appear.in | Online Collaboration Tools | Scoop.it
appear.in is an easy to use video meeting system in your browser
Robin Good's insight:

Appear.in is a new free P2P video group chat and collaboration web app allowing you to instantly create a meeting room where anyone can be invited easily.

Appear.in leverages WebRTC technology now available via Chrome and Firefox latest browsers. The new technology allows for peer-to-peer direct collaboration with users connecting directly to each other without the need to go through centralized servers.

Screen-sharing, video and audio are all supported (the service is in full beta and it is possible that you will encounter bugs and issues in using it.)

Appear.in requires no registration, login or download. It's click and go from the very first time.

My comment: WebRTC looks very promising for real-time collaboration tools and appear.in is a live demonstration of it. Supereasy video conferencing without any tech hassles.

Collaborative Screen Sharing App ScreenHero Now Available on Windows Too

Collaborative Screen Sharing App ScreenHero Now Available on Windows Too | Online Collaboration Tools | Scoop.it
Simple, collaborative screen sharing. You each get your own mouse, and you're both always in control.
Robin Good's insight:

ScreenHero, which I have reviewed and announced back in December, is a downloadable app which allows anyone to collaboratively screen-share any application and to work together simultaneously on it with others.

Today ScreenHero has released a Windows version of its free app which is immediately available for download here: http://screenhero.com/#download

From the official site: "You each get your own mouse pointer, and you're both always in control. It's designed for collaboration, not just broadcasting your screen.

From the original article on BetaKit: "The team calls Screenhero “Google Docs for any application.”

After downloading the app, signing up, and adding team members or friends, users can either share their entire screen or one individual window.

Once a contact has agreed to view the screenshare, both participants get their own mouse pointer and similar to Google Docs, can simultaneously edit and work on projects.

...

The company said their platform is ideal for developers who are programming together or reviewing code, companies who want to review designs or mockups together, or marketers giving product demos.

The basic account is free, and soon users will be able to pay either $5 per month for an individual pro account, or $49 per month for a pro team account, which will add additional features like support and enterprise integration.

The app also lets users chat using Screenhero’s internal chat feature, currently via text but the company said it plans to add audio chat as well, which is a crucial feature since right now most users who want to chat while they’re working together have to use Skype in conjunction with Screenhero."
