The MoodleMoot will take place from August 23-25 online via WizIQ Virtual Classroom on Moodle. The MMVC13 presentations will be conducted in English, Spanish, German, and French (other languages are welcome). You are invited to join the presentations before the sessions to ensure that you get the video recordings. After the event (August 26, 2013), you may view the lecture sessions and recordings by joining the MMVC13 course on WizIQ and learn at your own pace. The content and class recordings will remain on the WizIQ course area indefinitely. They will be removed from this Moodle website after the event as we get ready for MMVC14.

Solution: The Smashing Magazine has just published a valuable selection of curated design conference collections of video recordings and presentation clips presenting the best of those events. I’ve long been a fan of Bloom’s Taxonomy…not necessarily for all the ways it has been pushed into different fads throughout the years, but instead for the way that it helps me (and my students) think about the learning process. It helps me approach the learning process in a more holistic way, ensuring that I don’t camp out in one way of thinking and evidencing learning for too long. I think it is human nature to get excited about one way of thinking and suddenly everything we do falls into that. It can be a little bit like the new car that you purchased, you begin to see that car everywhere because you have a new awareness of it. I’ve noticed myself doing the same in teaching. Bloom’s Taxonomy helps me to keep myself cognizant of all the different ways to approach learning.

This guide will help avid readers, serious researchers and casual surfers alike get the most out of free web libraries.

Technology and education are pretty intertwined these days and nearly every teacher has a few favorite tech tools that make doing his or her job and connecting with students a little bit easier and more fun for all involved. Yet as with anything related to technology, new tools are hitting the market constantly and older ones rising to prominence, broadening their scope, or just adding new features that make them better matches for education, which can make it hard to keep up with the newest and most useful tools even for the most tech-savvy teachers. Here, we’ve compiled a list of some of the tech tools, including some that are becoming increasingly popular and widely used, that should be part of any teacher’s tech tool arsenal this year, whether for their own personal use or as educational aids in the classroom.
