Branding for companies have become increasing cruitial in order for there success; especially in todays society. After looking through articles about brandng and brand management, Facebook was the only company and brand that appeared the most.

It is evident that Facebook has become the most credible brand, and this is due to the publicity it has persisted over the previous years. Companies are using facebook as a high source of marketing. This is because facebook covers a large range of consumers of all different ages. Due to Facebook being so highly publicised, thier branding is everywhere. Companies expose Facebook for their own marketing and reputation but the more companies use Facebook, the better Facebook is increasing their brand awareness.

Their brand management is well thought through because even though facebook is free, their still making a huge amount of money, they have a incredible amount of users and the amount companies that turn to facebook for publicity is huge.

Ashleigh Nicol's comment, August 19, 2013 4:44 AM
I agree that Facebook has become an increasingly credible brand in regard to advertising. Not only because of the vast amount of people who use it but also due to the fact that it has been around for several years now. I think that the reason advertising is so successful through Facebook is because they didn’t incorporate advertising into their structure until they were successful and established. Also I agree that part of Facebook’s credibility is that it is free, there is little sacrifice given by the users. Also most of the advertisements are relevant to the viewer as they are ‘suggested’ ads using the previous search history made by the user.
Gregory Farr's comment, August 21, 2013 7:23 AM
Facebook is definitely a credible and well known brand as this article suggests. I believe one of the reasons this is is because Facebook is known worldwide and is accessible to almost anyone with the internet (excluding china). A great example of how well the brand is known is the press Facebook got during the Egyptian riots where a man was holding up a sign with the Facebook logo asking for people to talk about it on Facebook. These images where shown all across the western world. I believe the reason facebook scored higher than luxury brands is because even though luxury brands are highly desired Facebook is something that almost everyone uses its incredibly popular and accessible. Facebook since its success has been finding ways to generate revenue and it can be expected the company will continue to grow for quite a long time. The interesting part is how does Facebook make money off its free service? This is because the brand is so powerful that its a crucial form of marketing now and people will pay Facebook to release adds and can pay money to promote the adds throughout the day. Its through this brand power Facebook will survive in today's online market

How Can You Identify Influencers with Social Media?

Rim Riahi's curator insight, August 5, 2013 1:54 AM

Influencers have always been a coveted entity in marketing and advertising. For the obvious reason that they influence people. But all of us cannot afford the Kardashians to tweet for us. Thankfully, social media has spawned new influencers, who will engage you and happily promote your tweets every now and then, once they know you well enough and trust you
